Food is one of my sources of happiness! Therefore, the idea of diet never appealing to me, as it felt like I'd lose the ability to eat all the yummy food! In the end, life is about enjoying it to the fullest, no? :)
BUT... this way of thinking changed my perspective: By making diet adjustment now, not only I can feel great with my body in the now, but also in the long term!
One of my mentors said to me, "The easy road leads to the hard road. And the hard road leads to the easy road." Whether you like it or not, there'll be a hard road coming your way, but you can choose when would that come. Now or later in the future?
